This is a general announcement; there is no online bidding for The Elephant's Trunk auction (with the exception of the box truck, see below).
Auction Exchange has been contracted to sell by Public Auction the entire contents of The Elephant's Trunk thrift store, which for 50 years has served to benefit the hospital located on Venice Island. Proceeds will continue to benefit the community. Items to be sold include the entire store inventory, many tools, retail supplies, fixtures, and more.
The doors will open for preview on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9:00 a.m., and the auction will begin at 11:00 a.m. You must register with a photo ID and get a bid number to participate.
The Elephant's Trunk is located on Venice Island, 595 S. Tamiami Trail, between the Publix and the Chamber of Commerce building.
Items include bedroom furniture, mattresses, dressers, chests, nightstands, nice bedroom suite, sofas and love seats, chairs, coffee and end tables, rocking chairs, outdoor furniture, lamps, dining sets, buffets, china cabinets, bakers racks, hanging light fixtures, mirrors, bookshelves, wicker shelves, entertainment centers, TV stands, room dividers and screens, display racks, carts, decorative household items, glassware, appliances, refrigerator, framed prints and artwork, sets of china, clocks, costume jewelry, jewelry displays, books, CDs/DVDs, board games, seasonal items, retail cashier counter, many hand tools, wrenches, tool chests and cabinets, ladders, Craftsman band saw and drill press, many fasteners and workshop supplies, cleaning supplies, filing cabinets, and many other items.
There is also a good Box Truck that is to be sold online, on this website, following the in-person auction. Please watch this site for bidding to begin on the truck during the first part of September. Much more information coming soon!
