Pair of 19th Century Ernst Bohne Porcelain Vases with Applied Flowers

Auction Estimate $800

  Lot # 200
Listing Image
Description

A pair of exquisite antique flower-encrusted porcelain vases, by highly regarded German maker Ernst Bohne and Son.  The blue "EB" anchor mark is pictured.

Condition:  At first glance you will find these vases stunning, but when you begin to scrutinize them you will find there is an old chip on the corner of one's base (pictured).  Also there are some places that do not have flowers (presumably some loss), and there are chips among the tiny flowers/leaves.  Damage is in keeping and typical for this type of ware in our opinion.  Study the photos for closeup details, and of course you are welcome to come to preview in person on Saturday (1-5 pm).   In general, these are very impressive and quite beautiful.  8" tall.
