Description

A collection from the estate of a U.S. State Department official who was stationed in Central and South America from 1957 to the late 1960's, and acquired these items from the Jivaro Tribe of Ecuador.  The lot includes:

Bow and Arrows, Quiver, Blowgun, 2 Daggers, Spear; for a total of 14 individual pieces.  We also have 3 mailing tubes that the items have been stored in all these years.  Several pieces were labeled by the owner: Ecuador, 1961, Jivaro.  This is probably the date he acquired them, and these weapons are likely older than 1961.  Most of the items are made of a heavy tempered palm wood, and they have sharp points.  Some items are decorated with hand woven and dyed colored cording and small shells.

Double Dagger 17" long; Single Dagger 10.5" long; Quiver 17" long; 2 Arrow Parts Inside the Quiver 11.5" long; Spear 35" long; Bow 42" long; 6 Long Arrows 34" long; Blow Pipe/Gun 54" long.
