Description

This is a Rare, English, Victorian, late 19th C, Silverplate Horn & Stag Spoon Warmer. This Victorian-Era invention used to keep serving spoons warm at the table especially when kitchens were far from the dining area.  The Servers would pour hot water in the opening an place the spoon inside.  The end of the Horn unscrews to release the water.  Just look at the stunning details which also includes a Horn handle.  The hallmark on the bottom reveals its history, registered Sheffield, England, 11 May 1880.  It is a heavy piece weighing over 3 pounds and measures 10" long, 5.5" tall x 4.5" wide.  It is in wonderful antique condition with only normal age related wear.  This is a winner !
