Description

Offered here is a charming set of four early 20th century tin litho toy banks, cleverly designed in the shape of books. Each features bright, colorful lithographed nursery rhyme scenes with embossed “spines” marked as volumes. Titles include:

  • Tom, Tom the Piper’s Son (red)

  • Simple Simon (blue)

  • Old King Cole (yellow)

  • Mother Hubbard (green)

These whimsical banks were popular children’s toys of the 1920s–1930s, often given as novelties or savings encouragement gifts. Each bank has a coin slot on top and a circular tin trap on the bottom.

Condition: Overall good with expected age wear. Litho colors remain vibrant, though some surfaces show scratches, minor edge wear, and light oxidation (notably on Simple Simon and Old King Cole). Coin traps intact. Please see photos for details.

Dimensions: Each approx. 4" high x 3" wide x 1.5" deep.

A delightful and display-worthy set of vintage lithographed tin toy banks, sure to appeal to collectors of early toys, banks, or nursery rhyme memorabilia.
