Description

Antique ARBUCKLES Roasted Coffees Wooden Shipping Crate
w/ Eagle “Trade Mark” Graphic (Early 1900s, Pure Food Guarantee Era)

This is a highly collectible Arbuckles Roasted Coffees advertising crate. Arbuckles’ Ariosa brand was one of the most famous packaged coffees in the United States from the 1870s through the 1930s, commonly found in general stores and frontier trading posts.

Your crate features:

Key Characteristics

  • Bold black stenciling:
    ARBUCKLES
    TRADE MARK
    ROASTED COFFEES

  • Classic Arbuckles eagle logo

  • “Guaranteed Under Pure Food Guarantee” with USDA number – indicates post-1906, after the Pure Food and Drug Act

  • Solid pine/fir construction

  • Early nailed crate form, likely used to ship 100 lb. sacks or tins

  • Strong general-store aesthetic and excellent display appeal

  • Measures" 29" wide x 16" deep x 17" tall

This version—with the full “Roasted Coffees” wording and Pure Food Guarantee stamp—is more desirable than the earlier partial panels.

DATE

🟢 1906–1920s
(Because of the federal “Pure Food Guarantee” text.)

CONDITION

  • Very good, strong graphics

  • Nice warm patina

  • Some scratches, scuffs, and knot marks typical for a 100+ year-old crate

  • Structurally sound

  • Very displayable for rustic décor, cabins, coffee shops, or collectors

Overall: Very good antique condition
