Description

This is a 6 piece set of vintage Mid-Century Modern porcelain plates, which was designed by the acclaimed German artist Hilda Sandtner for the Rosenthal Art Department in Selb, Germany, likely in the 1950's.  The plates feature a bold, mid-century style graphic design of stylized figures, possibly with fruits or birds, against a gray background. The specific pattern in the image appears to depict figures in a social or market setting, sometimes referred to as "Farmers Market" or "Damenkapelle" in related listings.

  • Shape and Material: It is made of porcelain and has a distinctive, non-traditional triangular or freeform shape, characteristic of the era's modern art movement.
  • Condition: These are in wonderful condition with no chips, or cracks, only utensil marks typical with use. The designs remaining bold and bright.  Each plate measures 7 5/8"
