Description

This Antique, Victorian 1854 Spoon Warmer by Martin & Hall, Sheffield England is Stunning both in shape and design.  This Victorian-Era invention used to keep serving sppons warm at the table especially when kitchens were far from the dining area.  The servers would pour hot water in the opening and place the spoon inside.  This has beautiful engraving and chasing on the body and lid as well as beading at the top of the bowl.  It opens and closes perfectly.  It is in Fabulous antique condition and has been lovingly cared for, for over 172 years. It is hallmarked on the bottom with the makers mark and date.  It measures approximately 11" in length and 4" at its tallest.  The pictures don't do it justice as it is so much lovelier in person.  Please excuse any reflections from my camera !  Because of the rarity and condition of this piece it does have a reserve of $100.00
