A finely detailed pair of vertical carved panels, featuring intricate openwork and high-relief decoration with a rich gilt finish against contrasting dark frames.

• Left panel: Depicts a lively natural scene with numerous birds—likely phoenix and other auspicious species—perched among flowering branches. The composition is dense and dynamic, symbolizing prosperity, harmony, and renewal in traditional Chinese iconography. Height 31.5" X Width 9.5" X Depth 2.5"
• Right panel: Features a complex narrative scene with multiple human figures set within tiered architectural structures, possibly a palace or temple setting. Figures appear engaged in ceremonial or courtly activity, rendered with remarkable depth and detail. Height 32" X Width 10" X Depth 2.5"
