Description

A historical document dated 1825, discussing appointing John W. Hamm as postmaster of Manchester in Stark County, near Canton in Ohio.  It also discusses the need to change Manchester's name.  [It apparently became "Nimisila" based on the appointment certificate in the previous lot.]  It is hand signed by John McLean (who went on to become a famous Supreme Court Justice known for his dissent in the Dred Scott case).  Professionally framed.

Framed size: 20" x 24"
